network03.jpg"Little smiles" with Surangani Voluntary Services(2009) Our thinking for networking We have never been allowed to forget that a lot of support from our supporters and friends has enabled us to work on various fields of projects both in Japan and Sri Lanka. Therefore, we APCAS think we have never placed emphasis on only our implemented activities, if we were needed, we have actively supported other individuals and groups as possible since the organization's formation.

P1090469.JPGStudy Tour for Japanese University Students(2009)We also have widely worked on projects of various sizes with Japan and local NGO, international cooperation organization, research institute, firms and individuals sharing the same vision with us. We will aggressively continue to expand and deepen such collaborated work in the future because we believe, multi actors’ working beyond the organizations, which leads us the truly effective assistance or social development on the whole.

Our Action
We started “Art craft producing project” since 2009 with some craft men in Sri Lanka who are in interested on eco-friendly, preserving tradition and empowerment of producer’s skill and position. In this project, we have aimed to build more face-to-face relation between producers and customers each other through producing and selling. We understand that connecting Sri Lankan craft men to Japanese mature consumers furthermore competitive Japanese Market requires much and continuous effort, but we will keep on brushing up the present products and at the same time making new network in both countries. So far, our products were sold in Fair Trade Festival in Sapporo, Global Festa in Tokyo and some shops. And recently, our colorful book cover was adopted as one of the prize of Student Speech Contest 2010 held by JICA in Japan.

network02.jpgProducts Sale at global festa(2009)In Researching field, we published “BOP (Base of Pyramid) Business report in Sri Lanka”, in which we analyzed the exsisting BOP market and outlook regarding Health, Food, Energy, Housing and ITC sectors. In addition, we had conducted a socio-economical survey of Bolgoda Lake with University of Sri Jayawarudanapura and Rakuno Gakuen University, Japan.
